I realized I should make use of the blog feature...
Lately, I've been sick! Because of medical reasons and well, common sense, I try not to get sick because when I DO get sick, I tend to get very sick. I've been having horrible fever symptoms... There's a threshold of "This is annoying, least I can do things" and "This is the worst thing ever and I am suffering" and it usually is determined by my ability to draw.
I draw every day to the point of compulsion. It's more or less a meditative thing at a point because I feel very anxious when I can't draw-- it's always been that way! When I was in school, from a very early age, I used to sneak folded paper and pencils into assemblies because it helped with my anxiety. Last night I got to a point where I felt so cold, having my hands even under blankets hurt because I could not get warm... So I could not draw... (Or do much of anything...) The true horror...
Anyway, I'm still sick and going between dealing with it and "I can't draw its over". Still! I have busied myself with the beautiful wonders of film! As in, yesterday I watched 3 different movies.
I won't do full reviews here, because I do monthly reviews on
my neocities of films. But in short:
1.
Bring It On Again (2004) -- Followup to the original Bring It On. I didn't like the original very much, but I'm going through a list of movies for a documentary I wanna see. I liked this one even less.
2.
Isle of the Dead (1945) -- Thought this would be more zombie-like. It kind of reminded me of some things in the game Pathologic and was more of a folk-psychological horror... I liked it!
3.
Grand Guignol (2022) - BL, Horror, and my special interest of the Grand Guignol. I was in the throes of sickness while watching it but I had a blast!
I'll probably busy myself with movies again today... Last time I remember feeling this sick I ended up doing a mediocre TL of a manga I love. And never finished. But no one else has tl'd it... So maybe I'll reach a zenith where I feel the urge to do that again...! Aha...
Or I'll just catch up on webcomics...
